Day 1: Arrival in Luxor - East Bank Exploration: Karnak and Luxor Temples

Lunch Dinner
On arrival at Luxor airport or train station, you are warmly welcomed by our representative, easily identifiable with a wide smile and a sign bearing the agency name. You are accompanied to your Nile cruise ship, moored elegantly on the banks of the river. If you arrive in the morning, your first visit is organised immediately on arrival to avoid any wait before cruise check-in at 12:00. In the afternoon, head to the east bank of Luxor and one of ancient Egypt's most impressive jewels: the Temple of Karnak. A true sacred city, this vast complex dedicated to the god Amun-Ra was the spiritual and political centre of the New Kingdom. You enter the great temple of Amun, whose colossal architecture never ceases to fascinate. From one pylon to the next, you advance through a stone universe dominated by the hypostyle hall - a monumental "forest" of 134 papyrus-shaped columns, over 20 metres high, covered in reliefs celebrating gods and pharaohs. Around you stand imposing obelisks, including those of Queen Hatshepsut and Thutmose I, symbols of power turned towards the sky. You continue with the majestic Temple of Luxor, begun under Amenhotep III and enlarged by Ramesses II. Dedicated to Amun-Ra, Mut and Khonsu, forming the Theban triad, the temple played a central role in the Opet festival. At the entrance, two colossi of Ramesses II and a pink granite obelisk testify to his grandeur; its twin stands today on the Place de la Concorde in Paris. In the evening, an Egyptian folkloric show animates the ship: dances, music and smiles precede a warm dinner and a peaceful night in Luxor, rocked by the waters of the Nile. Included visits: Temple of Karnak, Temple of Luxor. Accommodation: 5-star cruise ship, Luxor.

Day 2: West Bank of Luxor: Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut, Colossi of Memnon - Navigation to Edfu

Breakfast Lunch Dinner
After breakfast on board, you set off for an unforgettable morning on the west bank of Luxor, dedicated to the dead in Egyptian symbolism. Your exploration begins with the Valley of the Kings, majestic royal cemetery where more than sixty New Kingdom pharaohs rest, including Tutankhamun, Ramesses II and Seti I. Their tombs, carved directly into the rock and hidden in a strikingly beautiful desert landscape, testify to the most refined funerary art of ancient Egypt. You explore three tombs, each decorated with funeral scenes in still vivid colours, plunging you into the sacred universe of the journey to the afterlife. You continue to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. This woman pharaoh, defying the conventions of her era, brilliantly asserted her legitimacy in a world dominated by men. Built around 1470 BC, this New Kingdom masterpiece, carved into the desert cliffs of Deir el-Bahari, integrates with surprising elegance into the arid landscape. Its monumental terraces, finely sculpted colonnades and narrative reliefs testify to the artistic daring of the era. Late morning, you stop before the Colossi of Memnon, two gigantic stone statues guarding the vestiges of the funerary temple of Amenhotep III, erected over 3,000 years ago. After the visit, return to the boat for a peaceful lunch on board. As the ship resumes navigation towards Edfu, let yourself be rocked by the gentleness of the Nile. The afternoon unfolds at the slow rhythm of the river: a refreshing dip in the pool, relaxation on a sun lounger, gaze lost on the palm-tree and mango-tree-lined banks. Included visits: Valley of the Kings (3 tombs), Temple of Hatshepsut, Colossi of Memnon. Accommodation: 5-star cruise ship, on the Nile.

Day 3: Temple of Edfu - Temple of Kom Ombo - Navigation to Aswan

Breakfast Lunch Dinner
Early morning, you leave the boat to discover the Temple of Horus at Edfu, one of Egypt's best preserved. By horse-drawn carriage, you cross the still-sleepy town, rocked by the muffled hoofbeats and the first rays of the sun. Soon, the majestic sanctuary rises before you, dedicated to the falcon-headed god, guardian of divine justice. The columns rise like a book of stone, each hieroglyph and each engraving whispering the secrets of Horus, evoking his battle against Seth. A timeless parenthesis. Back on board, the ship gently resumes navigation as the Nile slowly unfurls its green ribbon between desert sands and infinite sky. In the afternoon, you reach Kom Ombo, where a singular temple rises, unique in Egypt, dedicated to two deities of opposing natures: Sobek, the crocodile god, embodiment of primitive forces, and Horus the Elder, solar principle of order, light and spirituality. This perfectly symmetrical double sanctuary embodies the Egyptian philosophy of duality. At fading light, the reliefs come to life. A carved calendar marks the seasons and Nile festivals. Further on, an astonishing fresco shows surgical instruments, testifying to the medical knowledge of the Greco-Roman era and the temple's curative role, once also a place of healing. As the sun fades at the horizon, the ship heads for Aswan, the Nile sparkling under the first stars. Included visits: Temple of Edfu (by horse-drawn carriage), Temple of Kom Ombo. Accommodation: 5-star cruise ship, Aswan.

Day 4: Temple of Philae - Unfinished Obelisk - Optional Nubian Village

Breakfast Lunch Dinner
Early morning, after breakfast, you depart by vehicle to discover the millennial city of Aswan. Your first stop is Philae. A peaceful motorboat crossing takes you to the island of Agilkia, setting of the majestic Temple of Philae. This sanctuary, erected in the Greco-Roman era in honour of the divine Isis - universal goddess of magic and love, whose cult spread to rival Christianity - radiates a timeless beauty. Its finely sculpted columns and delicate engravings reveal a deep spiritual fervour. Originally on the island of Philae, the temple was threatened by the construction of the Aswan Dam. It was then moved stone by stone to the neighbouring island of Agilkia in an admirable act of preservation. Your visit continues with the exploration of the Unfinished Obelisk, an impressive mass of red granite abandoned in its ancient quarry. Carved directly from the rock, this colossal monument - which would have been the largest obelisk ever erected - reveals the secrets of cutting techniques and the immense ambitions of the pharaohs. Its incompletion, due to a crack discovered during extraction, makes it a fascinating testament to the technical challenges of the era. After this discovery-filled day, you return peacefully to your boat, where a tasty lunch awaits, followed by a moment of relaxation with afternoon tea. Optional afternoon: a peaceful motorboat cruise on the Nile to a Nubian village. Admire the changing riverside landscapes, with perhaps a chance to spot migratory birds. On arrival, discover this colourful hamlet, its traditional painted houses and warm inhabitants who will invite you to meet their tame crocodiles. The stroll continues along Elephantine Island, its lush botanical garden, then the peaceful islands, true preserved sanctuaries in the heart of the Nile. Included visits: Temple of Philae, Unfinished Obelisk. Accommodation: 5-star cruise ship, Aswan.

Day 5: Disembarkation - Optional Abu Simbel Visit

Breakfast
You leave the boat with a heavy heart, perhaps eyes misted with emotion, after having lived one of the most memorable adventures of your life. For a few days, you sailed in the company of the gods, walked in the footsteps of the priests, greeted the shadow of the pharaohs. What you take away goes far beyond memories: the palms swaying in the breeze, the silent flight of birds over the Nile, the golden light caressing the sacred stones at sunset. The journey ends, but Egypt will never truly leave you. Optional: depart to discover the majestic Temple of Abu Simbel, Ramesses II's masterpiece carved into the rock, a symbol of power and devotion. This impressive site, moved stone by stone to save it from the waters of Lake Nasser, offers an unforgettable moment facing the monumental colossi and the dazzling military frescoes adorning the interior of the sanctuary.
