Escape for four enchanting days between Aswan and Luxor, along the Nile, the mythical river that witnessed the birth of one of History's greatest civilisations. Aboard a 5-star cruise ship, let yourself be carried by the gentle current and the majesty of the thousand-year-old temples rising, like guardians of time, on the golden banks of Upper Egypt.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Aswan - Temple of Philae - Aswan High Dam

Lunch Dinner
On arrival in Aswan, you are warmly welcomed by our French-speaking representative, easily recognisable with a sign bearing the agency name. With courtesy, they accompany you in a private air-conditioned vehicle to your cruise ship, elegantly moored on the banks of the Nile, where your Egyptian interlude begins. Your first stop takes you to the Aswan High Dam, a feat of modern engineering built in the 1960s under President Gamal Abdel Nasser. A symbol of national renewal, this imposing concrete structure was designed to tame the Nile's ancestral floods, regulate its flow and guarantee Egypt stable irrigation. You then board a motorboat to glide on the tranquil Nile waters to the majestic Temple of Philae. This sanctuary, dedicated to the goddess Isis - maternal and protective figure of the Egyptian pantheon - stands gracefully on the island of Agilkia, where it was majestueously rebuilt stone by stone after an ambitious UNESCO rescue operation. Between slender colonnades and devotion-filled bas-reliefs, the temple reveals all the finesse of Greco-Roman architecture. Philae was also one of the last bastions of Egyptian religion before becoming, with the advent of Christianity, a Coptic place of worship: the Christian chapels and crosses engraved on the walls testify to this slow spiritual transition. At the end of the afternoon, you return peacefully to your boat. The evening is free: enjoy the on-board facilities, let yourself be rocked by the gentle Nile or wander through the lively Aswan souk. For morning arrivals, visits begin immediately on arrival to make the most of the time available before embarkation (planned at 12:00). Included visits: Temple of Philae, Aswan High Dam. Accommodation: 5-star cruise ship, Aswan.

Day 2: Optional Abu Simbel - Navigation to Kom Ombo - Temple of Kom Ombo

Breakfast Lunch Dinner
In the morning, enjoy free time to relax on board or explore Aswan at your own pace with your guide. For those who wish, an optional morning excursion to Abu Simbel can be organised. It is a departure at the first light of day for an unforgettable journey through the Nubian desert to the majestic temples carved into the rock by Ramesses II. Four colossi of nearly 20 metres, representing Ramesses II seated on his throne, guard the entrance of the Great Temple, affirming his divine power. Inside, offering scenes and military frescoes illustrate his glory, including the famous Battle of Qadesh. The Small Temple, dedicated to Nefertari and Hathor, captivates with the elegance of its statues and the delicacy of its bas-reliefs. Return on board for lunch in the refined comfort of the ship gliding on the Nile. Through the bay windows, the golden midday light enters as the landscape slowly passes: verdant banks, slender palms, sugar cane fields and rural life scenes. Late afternoon, the boat moors peacefully at Kom Ombo. This unique sanctuary pays homage to two deities: Sobek, crocodile god, master of waters and fertility, and Horus the Elder, solar falcon and guardian of cosmic order. Everything here evokes duality - between earth and sky, strength and wisdom, chaos and harmony. The perfectly symmetrical rooms reflect this fundamental principle: two sanctuaries, two entrances, two worlds cohabiting in a single sacred breath. On the walls, a meticulous list of surgical instruments testifies to the medical knowledge of the era, while a Nilotic calendar engraved in stone marks the agricultural year. Return on board for a peaceful dinner as the boat resumes navigation towards Edfu. Included visits: Temple of Kom Ombo. Accommodation: 5-star cruise ship, on the Nile.

Day 3: Temple of Edfu - Navigation to Luxor - Luxor Temple

Breakfast Lunch Dinner
At the first light of day, you board a horse-drawn carriage to cross the still-silent alleyways of Edfu. The air is crisp, the hooves beat the cobblestones, and soon the massive silhouette of the Temple of Horus rises before you, one of the best-preserved in Egypt. Built by the Ptolemies between the 3rd and 1st centuries BC, this sanctuary celebrates Horus the avenger, falcon god, who came to triumph over Seth, the murderer of his father Osiris. The architecture impresses with its perfect symmetry, monumental columns and majestic pylon guarded by two granite falcons. Crossing its gates, you enter a sacred universe where shadow and light dance on walls covered with ritual inscriptions. Return to the boat by carriage as Edfu gently awakens under the golden morning light. On board, breakfast is served as the ship resumes navigation towards Luxor. After peaceful passage through the Esna lock, the Nile widens and the rhythm eases. The morning unfolds in an atmosphere of quiet: reading on deck, a swim in the pool, coffee in hand - each savouring the river in their own way. The landscape slowly scrolls: slender palms, sugar cane fields, languid buffaloes, children waving from the banks. Late afternoon, arrival in Luxor, ancient Thebes. On foot, you discover the Temple of Luxor, magnified by the golden evening light. The sphinx avenue leads you to the great pylon of Ramesses II, guarded by imposing statues. Built under Amenhotep III and enlarged by Ramesses II, this sanctuary dedicated to the god Amun reveals its majestic colonnades and finely sculpted bas-reliefs. You encounter the Mosque of Abu el-Haggag, perched above the pharaonic vestiges, and the Chapel of Alexander the Great, proof of the continuity of worship. A visit between fading light and thousand-year stones, where past and present answer each other. Included visits: Temple of Edfu, Temple of Luxor. Accommodation: 5-star cruise ship, Luxor.

Day 4: Valley of the Kings - Temple of Hatshepsut - Colossi of Memnon - Temple of Karnak - Departure

Breakfast
In the morning, after a last breakfast, you leave the boat with a heavy heart. With gentle nostalgia you leave behind this interlude outside of time, rich in emotions and encounters. You set off to discover the west bank of Luxor. In the hollow of the desert mountains of Western Thebes, the Valley of the Kings reveals itself as a mineral sanctuary dedicated to eternity. Here, the pharaohs of the New Kingdom traded the pyramids for the depths of rock, carving invisible tombs guided by their quest for immortality. Each tomb is a masterpiece of underground architecture, decorated with sacred frescoes recounting the soul's journey to the afterlife. Your entry ticket gives access to three tombs, carefully selected for their state of conservation, the richness of their decoration and their evocative power. You continue with the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of the most audacious and fascinating figures of ancient Egypt. Daughter of a king, regent then pharaoh in her own right, she asserted herself by adopting all the attributes of power. Her funerary temple, set against the monumental cliffs of Deir el-Bahari, is its most dazzling expression. Built on symmetrical terraces linked by long ritual ramps, it seems to prolong the lines of the mountain in a perfect harmony between human architecture and mineral majesty. Two major narratives unfold within: her divine birth as daughter of the god Amun, and the celebrated expedition to the mythical land of Punt. You stop before the two Colossi of Memnon, monumental 18-metre statues adorning the entrance of the now-ruined funerary temple of Amenhotep III. After lunch, you enter the Temple of Karnak, one of the most impressive sanctuaries ever built. Far more than a simple temple, Karnak is a vast sacred complex, the fruit of more than two millennia of construction, enlargement and reinvention. The avenue of the rams immediately conveys the majesty of the place. Then comes the hypostyle hall, the absolute masterpiece of Egyptian architecture. Its 134 colossal columns, over 20 metres high, form a forest of stone with papyrus-shaped capitals. The play of light and shadow, the finely chiselled hieroglyphs, the ritual scenes engraved on the walls make every step an immersion into a world governed by gods, myths and power. After this last visit, transfer to the airport for your return flight. You depart with your head and heart filled with memories: the light on the Nile waters, the silent majesty of the temples, the intact power of the stories engraved in stone. Included visits: Valley of the Kings (3 tombs), Temple of Hatshepsut, Colossi of Memnon, Temple of Karnak.
