Aswan Highlights: Philae Temple, High Dam & Unfinished Obelisk

Board a motorboat and glide across the blue waters to Agilkia Island, where the rescued temples of Philae rise from the water like a mirage. Dedicated to Isis, goddess of magic and motherhood, the temple was dismantled block by block and rebuilt here by UNESCO after the old dam flooding submerged its original island — a rescue story as moving as the carvings themselves.
