Kom Ombo & Edfu Temples Tour from Luxor

Présentation
Head south from Luxor through farmland and desert fringe to Kom Ombo, dramatically sited on a bend of the Nile. Unique in Egypt, its design is doubled in perfect symmetry: one half dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek, the other to the falcon-headed Horus the Elder. Look for the surgical instruments engraved on the inner wall — evidence of one of the world's earliest documented medical practices — and the mummified crocodiles displayed in the small on-site museum.
Continue north to Edfu, home to the Temple of Horus, the most completely preserved temple in all of Egypt thanks to nineteen centuries of protective sand drift. Horse-drawn carriages carry you from the riverbank through town to its mighty pylon, still standing 36 meters tall.
Inside, explore halls where hieroglyphic inscriptions read like an ancient instruction manual: foundation rituals, offering lists, and the dramatic myth of Horus defeating Seth depicted in sequence on the enclosing walls. Climb the rooftop stairways for atmospheric views, then enjoy lunch before the comfortable drive back to Luxor.
